Over 40 bottles of urine dumped behind Apple Way, Middleton

Date published: 13 January 2017

Around 44 two-litre bottles of urine were dumped behind Apple Way in Middleton on Saturday (7 January).

The Friends of Wince Brook and Countryside Ranger Mike Cummings have since removed the bottles.

A spokesperson for the Friends said: “Ranger Mike Cummings cleared most of them and our secretary, Joanne, will collect any remainder.

“Wince Brook Nature Reserve is such a precious resource that it is worth fighting for. Especially with it being surrounded by a huge population of people who need to get into some open space and see the flora and fauna.”

This is not the first time bottles of urine have been dumped behind Apple Way.

A similar number of two litre bottles of urine were removed in March 2016, when the Friends and other organisations 'Cleaned for the Queen' and cleared a 100 metre section of footpath at the rear of Apple Way.
