Otis Kirkland and Nicholas Cooper jailed for burglaries in Calderdale

Otis Kirkland and Nicholas Cooper, from Rochdale, have each been jailed for two-and-a-half years after being found guilty of a series of burglaries at homes in Calderdale.

Both were sentenced to 30 months in prison for conspiracy to burgle with intent to steal at a hearing at Bradford Crown Court on Wednesday 11 January.

Kirkland admitted to involvement in six burglaries during April and May 2015, while Cooper was involved in five. The pair took jewellery, cash, electrical items and vehicle keys during the spate of burglaries from unoccupied homes in Ripponden, Todmorden and Barkisland.

Cooper, 24, was also sentenced to a further 30 months for a burglary committed in Manchester in November 2015 while he was on bail. He had previously been charged with a burglaries in Ripponden in March 2015 and Rochdale in June 2014.

Kirkland, 30, had also been sent to a young offenders institute in 2006 after admitting aggravated taking a car without the owner’s consent, driving while disqualified and driving without insurance.

A third man, Antonio Fragale, 38, of Oldham, was sentenced to 15 months in prison for a related offence of conspiracy to steal.
