Everylife Technologies supports Carers Trust to adopt Dutch model of care

Date published: 17 January 2017

Carers Trust in Greater Manchester has adopted a pioneering Dutch homecare model in response to a decline in social care funding, supported by Everylife Technologies’ Pass system.

The new model was first implemented by Buurtzorg, a community nursing organisation in the Netherlands where each nurse was given a smartphone to record care. They reported 60 per cent less absenteeism and a 33 per cent lower turnover than other community nursing organisations, and patients also benefitted from more nurses delivering better care instead of administration.

All Carers Trust community care workers and supervisors in Greater Manchester will have access to tablets and smartphones to update medication administration records (MAR) sheets and care plans remotely, eliminating paperwork and allowing them to spend more time delivering care to their community. Care supervisors will use The pass system to have a real-time view of care delivery across Greater Manchester, driving up the quality of care while also delivering break through efficiencies and service compliance.

Carers Trust in Greater Manchester (formerly Crossroads Care) is a registered charity, registered with CQC, offering respite support to carers in six boroughs in Greater Manchester, Bolton, Oldham, Rochdale, Trafford, Stockport and Salford. It has a team of over 130 Carer Support Workers who provide respite for carers for over 700 families across Greater Manchester.
