Metrolink services are unable to run to the Rochdale Town Centre stop while the road is closed.

A spokesperson for Transport for Greater Manchester said: “The closure of Drake Street has impacted Metrolink services on the Oldham Rochdale line. Trams are turning at Rochdale Railway Station and will not run to the Rochdale Town Centre stop. This is to ensure the safety of our customers.

“We are advising customers to allow extra time for journeys while the road closure is in place. People who usually board Metrolink at Rochdale Town Centre should make their way to Rochdale Railway Station.

"We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, but unfortunately the road closure is beyond our control.”

Drake Street will remain closed until at least Monday when the building can be assessed by Rochdale Council officers, meaning all traffic and Metrolink services will be affected for the rest of the weekend and on Monday morning.
