Rochdale Borough Council cabinet member for culture, health and wellbeing, Councillor Janet Emsley, is encouraging local people to become more active.

Councillor Emsley is supporting the drive to get adults walking briskly for at least 10 continuous minutes every day.

To set a good example she takes a 10 minute walk around Broadfield Park, that you can do in your lunch break.

Councillor Emsley said: “Walking is a really easy and cost effective way to get more active and improve your own health and well being. All you need is just 10 minutes.”
