Rochdale’s library service is never closed thanks to new app

A new way for literature lovers to access their favourite books has been launched.

BorrowBox is an online application that allows local library members to download e-books and audiobooks straight to their to tablets, media players, e-readers and smartphones.

The app provides library members can browse, download and read items 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Anyone who gives the new service a try before the end of May, will automatically be entered into a competition to win an iPad mini, courtesy of BorrowBox.

Councillor Daalat Ali, cabinet member for libraries, said: “BorrowBox is accessible, easy to use and means literature lovers can enjoy the nation’s best loved authors via their digital devices. It is another step forward for our popular and dynamic library service.

“My message to library users old and new is download the app and start browsing. This superb service underlines that the doors to Rochdale’s library service are never closed.”
