Simon Danczuk completes the London Marathon raising funds for Rochdale Connections Trust

Date published: 24 April 2017

Simon Danczuk, Rochdale’s MP, completed this year’s London Marathon in five hours six minutes, raising hundreds of pounds for Rochdale Connections Trust.

Mr Danczuk said: “I am very pleased to have run the London Marathon for Rochdale Connections Trust, and I would like to thank them for all the hard work they do across the town.

“I also want to thank everybody who has donated, it’s been a real motivation to see all the support I’ve received from friends, colleagues and people across Rochdale.

“It’s been a lot of training but it’s really paid off, and I hope that more people will take part next year having seen how much good can come from it for so many great causes.”

Vivian Carter, Chairwoman of Rochdale Connections Trust, said: “Rochdale Connections Trust would like to congratulate Simon Danczuk on completing the London Marathon.

“The money raised will go towards supporting the work RCT carries out in helping families who suffer from domestic abuse, particularly young people who witness domestic abuse in their homes. It is becoming increasingly well documented that those who witness abuse of this type are often the homeless young people of the future.

“Simon, your efforts were much appreciated by all of us.”
