Car stolen from Newchurch Street, Castleton

A car was stolen from Newchurch Street, Castleton, at around 3.00pm on Sunday.

An eye witness reported seeing the car with ‘two young lads inside driving down Royle Barn Road, crashing into railings outside Soccer Village and then careering into the kerb on the opposite side of the road. They got out and ran off down Gypsy Lane’.

A police spokesperson said: “We were called at 3.20pm following a car being stolen from Newchurch Street, Castleton. The car was later found on Royle Barn Road. Enquiries are ongoing.”
