Rochdale and District Play Action Council being dissolved after council cuts funding

Date published: 18 July 2017

The trustees of Rochdale and District Play Action Council (RADPAC) have started the process of dissolving the charity following the withdrawal of core funding from Rochdale Council.

RADPAC has been part of the community for more than 30 years providing play opportunities for children of the borough.

A spokesperson said: "We would like to thank our staff for their hard work, especially our current manager Kay Carrington.

"We also want to thank the volunteers and the families and the children we have had the pleasure to work with over the decades.

"Play is an essential part of child development and we believe play provision in this borough will suffer because of RADPAC ceasing to exist.

"RADPAC activities will continue over summer but the charity will be dissolved later in the year."
