Assistant Coroner Salt concluded at Rochdale Coroner's Court, Heywood that Sam, a factory worker from Littleborough, died on the street in District 13 of Budapest after he was hit by two vehicles.

The former St Cuthbert’s pupil leaves behind a young daughter, Lyla, and was last seen getting into a taxi near a nightclub and bar called Morrisons 2 in District 6 of the city, shortly before 10.20pm on 28 April.

A national campaign to find Sam was launched by desperate friends and family after he became separated from the group. His fiancée, Becky Sweeney, and his dad, Carl, both flew to the Hungarian capital to look for the 24-year-old.
