Date published: 15 September 2017

Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust has appointed Claire Molloy as its new Chief Executive to lead its 5,500 health and social care staff.

Ms  Molloy has over 20 years’ experience in the NHS, working in a variety of roles across different settings. For the last four years, she was chief executive at Cumbria Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. Prior to that, she held the position of managing director at Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust.

She said: “I am really pleased to join Pennine Care, being a leader within the NHS is incredibly rewarding.

"Community and mental health care is a particular passion of mine, which was of course one of the major attractions of the role.

"I believe that Pennine Care has a great deal to offer patients and the wider health and social care system within the towns we cover.

“Providing high quality care is of course our top priority and I believe that if we properly look after our staff, we will in turn provide the best possible care to patients.”

Pennine Care provides care to a population of 1.3 million people within Bury, Oldham, Rochdale, Stockport, Tameside and Trafford. Last year on average, 94% of patients said they would recommend its services to their friends and family for care or treatment.
