Rochdale Town Centre Metrolink stop
Metrolink fares in Greater Manchester could rise by close to 6% annually until 2020, Transport for Greater Manchester has said.
All child fares would be harmonised at 50% of the adult fare.
Following the launch of the 16-18 half-price all operator day ticket on bus this September, it is proposed to offer half-price off-peak day (i.e. post
9.30am on weekdays) and (all day) weekend tickets on Metrolink to this age group.
The proposals will be discussed by Greater Manchester council leaders, including Rochdale Borough Council leader Richard Farnell, on Friday 29 September.
They will be asked to approve the increase, which will take place over a three-year period from January 2018.
