Design by Sana Ahmad chosen for council Chief Executive's Christmas card

Date published: 04 December 2017

A design by Redwood School pupil Sana Ahmad, 16, has been chosen for council Chief Executive Steve Rumbelow’ s official Christmas card.

Mr Rumbelow invited local schools to enter the competition and Sana’s design, featuring a colourful Christmas tree surrounded by gifts, was chosen.

Her design has been made into a printed card and an animated electronic version with twinkling tree-lights, which will be distributed by email.

Mr Rumbelow visited Redwood School to meet Sana and present her with one of the first new cards, a £50 gift voucher and chocolates for her classmates.

He was very impressed with Sana’s design, he said: “I wanted to do something a little different for this year’s card so asked local schools to help come up with some ideas.

"We have some budding creatives in our schools, and I received some really inspiring designs.

"Sana’s colourful tree on a bright white background was a piece of art, a modern take on a traditional scene which has helped make a lovely card.”
