Got frozen pipes?

Date published: 02 March 2018

Due to the severe weather conditions across the North West, United Utilities are receiving lots of calls from customers who have no water due to frozen pipes.

A spokesperson for United Utilities said: “If you have no water, your pipes may be frozen and as long as they are not split or damaged you may be able to defrost them yourself.  You can use a hairdryer set to warm or a hot water bottle to slowly thaw them.

“If you are unable to defrost them yourself or the pipe has burst, you will need to contact a plumber or check with your insurance provider for help as this is the responsibility of the homeowner.
