Assisted living bungalows for adults with autism in Middleton
A planning application for 15 assisted living bungalows at the site of Dingle Farm in Middleton has been referred to the Secretary of State after being granted subject to conditions on Monday (9 July).
The proposals by Auxillia Homes aim to create a flagship development of purpose built accommodation for people with autism.
The scheme would see demolition of existing buildings and erection of 15 bungalows and carer's accommodation, community building, farm building, open space and car parking with access from Hollin Lane.
Rochdale Council’s Planning and Licensing Committee considered the views of the agent for the applicant and a parent of a potential service user before granting permission subject to conditions.
As the development would cover green belt land, the application must now go to the Secretary of State, who will decide whether or not to call in the application.
