Ding Quarry Campaign Group online photo gallery and donations
Date published: 11 November 2007
The Stop Ding Quarry Campaign Group has launched a photo gallery section of the Campaign Group web site. The gallery has a range of photos showing a number of beautiful views of the moors surrounding Ding Quarry, also captured are a variety of fauna and moss now colonising the dormant quarry walls, plus images showing the stunning colours of the quarry rock face.
Along with the photo gallery a donations page can also now be found on the campaign web site; this new initiative is to help raise funds to conserve and maintain the moorland above Rochdale and surrounding areas.
The aim is to ensure generations to come can continue to enjoy and benefit from the history, culture and natural beauty that surround Rochdale.
Ian Hines, one of the campaign organisers says: ldquo;Your donation will help to defray the cost of publicity material and help to fund impact, archaeological and environmental assessments.
“Your donation, no matter how small, really can make a difference to our fight - please help.”
To view the photo gallery and to make a donation visit the Ding Quarry Campaign Group web site:
And if you haven’t already done so, take the opportunity to sing up to the petition calling on Rochdale Council to say NO to the application by D P Williams (Holdings) Ltd to re-open Ding Quarry for mineral extraction.
