Silent No More Campaign

Date published: 20 September 2007

Anti-abortion campaigner Mary Lavelle says: "Many women regret their abortions and often suffer in silence."  As part of the Silent No More Campaign there will be a gathering on St Ann's Square Manchester on Saturday 29 September 11.00am - 1.00pm where there will be a reaching out to those who feel isolated in their grief sharing how they found help to overcome the sorrow.

The Silent No More campaign, supported by the Society for the Protection of Unborn Children (SPUC), raises awareness by holding gatherings in public places nationwide featuring the voices of those who regret their abortions. Women and men share their personal abortion experiences at these gatherings.

The campaign aims to educate the public that abortion is harmful, to those who choose it, emotionally, physically and spiritually, and has lasting consequences. The aim is to reach out to those hurting after their abortion and let them know help is available. Also invited are those who are ready to share their stories and cease being 'Silent No More'.
