Police vans, cars and a mobile video unit rushed to Castleton yesterday (Sunday 26 January) after reports that a group of youths were attempting to burgle a house.

Officers attended Manchester Road, near Castleton swimming baths at 3.00pm to find three juveniles who had been causing disturbance and throwing stones.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “First reports said they were trying to break into the house, but witnesses on the scene said they were throwing stones at windows and generally causing annoyance.

“They were not arrested and charged”.
