New President for Middleton Rotary Club
Date published: 28 June 2007
A new President has been appointed at Middleton Rotary Club; outgoing president, Philip Jackson, handed over the chain of office to Jim Kenyon.
Mr Kenyon stated he was, "proud to be taking up the position in what is going to be a transitional year for the club. With new members and a very active programme being planned, it will be up to all Rotarians at the club to fulfil their desires to put service above self and put into action the projects planned". This will be the second term that Mr Kenyon has been President at Middleton.
The club has also welcomed nine new members who have transferred from the Rotary club of Rochdale Eighty-Six, a club that has now ceased after 21 years. Outgoing president of Rochdale Eighty-Six Keith Powell commented that, "whilst it is a sad day for Rotary to lose a club, the great news is that all of the Rotarians at the club have found a new Rotary home which is a credit to their belief in Rotary".
Middleton Rotary club meet at the Norton Grange on a Monday evening at 6.30pm, more details on the club can be found on their mini web site:
