Middleton Rotarian Keith Trinnaman and his team of nine fellow Rotarians and friends raised £4,500 for the Prostate Cancer Charity when they completed the Great Manchester Run on Sunday (17 May).
The run was a great success for the team, with all of the runners managing to complete the course, with the times varying between 45 minutes and 96 minutes.
Mr Trinnaman said: “We set ourselves two targets. First to raise at least £2,500 for Prostate Cancer, and secondly for all to complete the run without any real problems. On both counts the targets were exceeded."
President Norman Wellens had asked Mr Trinnaman to organise the team to raise the funds because he knows of many people that have died from prostate cancer.
Mr Wellens said: “What a wonderful experience this was, it was really great to see so many people turn up on the day to either run or support those runners.
"The actual completion of the run was secondary really to the excellent work that everyone on the day did for their particular charities. It was really heartening to witness.
"We would all like to thank everyone for their very generous support."
