Date published: 09/05/2007
Norden Community School has won a primary school competition to judge the best value Easter eggs.
Norden pupils beat off competition from 12 other primary schools to be voted the best consumer watchdogs. They then went on to come third in a regional final.
To win the competition organised by Rochdale Council's trading standards service, pupils had to decide which of three Easter eggs was the best value for money based on their weight, price, contents and taste. The competition was combined with school lessons to help improve pupils' consumer skills and awareness.
The school won new footballs and a gift voucher and the class that took part won Easter eggs.
