Building work to re-start at old Norden Fire Station

Date published: 06 October 2009

New contractors have started work at the site of the old Norden Fire Station to build five new homes.

The original developer went into receivership over a year ago, but now a new company, Hoyle Developments, is completing their purchase of the site.

Hoyle Developments have already brought in a works container on to the site, and put up new signage.

Planning permission was first granted in December 2003 for one dwelling with a detached double garage. Further planning permission was granted in August 2006 for five dwellings.

Councillor Wera Hobhouse said: "The site has been the number one eyesore in Norden for more than two years. I very much hope that the new builder will cause less problems for residents in the village and the Council than the previous developer and that the development will be completed in accordance with the conditional planning approval."

She wants to be here she wants to be there, was a Tory now a Lib-Dem, is a councillor, and seeks to be an MP.

If Wera Hobhouse wants to help anybody, just do your work as a Councillor. I would not give her my vote. I might elect a Lib-Dem then find out she is a Tory at heart.
