Young string players help raise charity cash

Date published: 15 October 2009

Rochdale Youth Orchestra’s newly-formed string quartet performed twice at the weekend in aid of charities.

The first was at the Masonic rooms at Richard Street on Friday (9 October), where the Mayor and Mayoress were in attendance, and the second at Springhill Hospice for an afternoon tea fundraising event.

Georgina Bennett, Isobel Webster, Bethan Gregory and Rebecca Baines delighted the audiences with their performance of popular and classical chamber music and are set to perform again at an event in November in aid of the Mayor’s Charity.
