Date published: 22 October 2009
Police have released pictures of jewellery stolen during an armed robbery in Rochdale.
At about 9pm on Thursday 1 October four men got into a house in the Bamford area after smashing a window at the side of the house.
The men were armed with knives and crowbars and confronted the homeowner and his wife.
The husband was taken into the lounge where he was tied up with plasterboard joint tape and bed sheets that the robbers had found in the house.
His wife was taken upstairs, threatened and stripped of the jewellery she was wearing.
The robbers also stole jewellery and a small amount of cash they found as they searched the house.
One of the offenders is described as having an Irish accent, while the other offenders are described as eastern European.
Police have now released pictures of some of the jewellery stolen and are appealing to anyone who has information to come forward.
The images are available to download with this news story below.
The couple's insurance company have also offered a £5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the robbers.
Detective Constable Janice Cruttwell, based at Rochdale CID said: "The couple were put through 45 minutes of sheer terror by these robbers.
"The gang will likely try to sell the stolen pieces on. I would urge people to take a good look at the pictures and if you are offered any of these pieces of jewellery then take note of who is offering them, get as much information as you can about the seller and then call police immediately."
Anyone with information is asked to call Rochdale CID on 0161 856 4644 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
