Mayoral visit for radio club

The members of the Ellenroad Radio Club met the mayor and mayoress this weekend to demonstrate their enjoyment of amateur radio.
Councillor Keith Swift and Susanne Etchells saw how the club use the radio waves to promote Rochdale and the museum to the rest of the world.
The club, based at the Ellenroad Steam Museum in Newhey, put on a radio station during steaming days, which run on the first Sunday in each month, to demonstrate their hobby and act as ambassadors for the town.
