Snow disrupts bin collections and forces school closures

The weekend snow has forced closures at a number of schools that were due to open today (Monday 21 December), while bin collections in Middleton have been cancelled.

Weekend drivers experienced treacherous conditions on roads throughout the borough, particularly on Saturday night when the snow started to stick to main roads.

Most main roads in the borough are now clear and safe for driving but minor roads are still under heavy snow and this forced school closures and bin cancellations.
