Deen 4 All charity donation

Deen 4 All, a Rochdale based community group promoting community cohesion, recently invited Yvonne Ridley and Sheikh Zahir to their conference to provide their insight into Islam during the 2006 Islamic Awareness Week. Following the event, held at Rochdale Town Hall and attended by over 450 local members of the community, the group took a collection and over £600 was raised. Deen 4 All has donated the money to Alwafa Foundation Trust - the Trust provides food and water to those in need throughout the world.

Mr Saleem Ahmed, the Marketing Director for Deen 4 All commented "We were entrusted with kind donations from the community. Alwafa Foundation were interviewed and were chosen purely on the basis that every penny donated, will be given to those in need."

Mr Saeed Haqqani one of the Directors of Alwafa Foundation was on hand to receive the cheque. Mr Haqqani said: "Alwafa Foundation is extremely grateful for the generous donation by the Deen for all. This money will be used where most needed - Darfur-Sudan."

Mr Haqqani also said: "I would like to remind the generous public that in this severe weather many thousands of the earthquake victims in Kashmir and northern Pakistan are still living in tents.  Every single pence of your donation will go to humanity in need."

He also added that Alwafa Foundation is a 100 % voluntary organisation and they do not spend any funds towards the administration, advertisements or postage.

Mr Ahmad concluded by saying: "Deen 4 All this year has help raise over £1200 for charity. We maintain our status as an open and transparent organisation. We are not-for-profit and are in debited to the many volunteers who provide excellent support.

 "Deen 4 All continues to grow from strength to strength. We thank KYP, Deeplish Community Centre, local Mosques, Churches, youth workers, Mr Ismail Fulat, as well as well as the many mentors for their support. Community Cohesion is only possible when you work closely with other organisations and Deen 4 All continues to demonstrate this."
