Meeters and greeters mapping the the town centre

Rochdale's Tourist Information Centre at Touchstones gallery and museum will soon be handing out new town centre maps to help visitors find their way around. The full colour, A4 maps pinpoint the attractions and shopping areas in the town centre as well as car parks and main public transport links. The maps are being produced jointly by Rochdale Council and Link4Life.

Tourism Officer, Tim Nuttall, and Jane Lowe, manager of Rochdale Tourist Information Centre, will be selling the sights of the town to Group Travel organisers at the Great Days Out Fair trade show on 13 February.

Mr Nuttall and Ms Lowe have also arranged for a group of VIP visitors from the Fair to visit the town centre on a familiarisation trip to encourage them to bring back their coach parties for longer visits. They are promoting the new 'Coach Friendly Rochdale' package which includes itinerary planning, 'a meeter and greeter' when the group arrive, free coach parking and pre-booked refreshments.
