New children’s clinics open

Date published: 22 February 2010

Children can now get more nursing care in the community thanks to two new clinics setting up in the borough.

The appointment-only clinics have been set up by the Children’s Community Team, who provide professional nursing care for a wide range of childhood illnesses including eczema, constipation, removal of stitches, wound checks and much more. The team also has specialist asthma and diabetes nurses.

The two new clinics are operating from: Middleton Health Centre, every Wednesday from 2.15pm to 6.00pm. Wardleworth and Hamer Health Centre in Rochdale, every Saturday from 9.00am to 12.00pm

Paula Flint, the team’s clinical leader, said: “We’ve set up the new clinics in the borough to make it easier and more accessible for children to get the nursing care they need out of a hospital setting.”
