New charges for child abuser

Tomorrow, Friday 5 March 2010, Colin Blanchard, from Smallbridge, Rochdale will appear at Bristol Crown Court.

Blanchard, who has already pleaded guilty to 17 charges of child pornography, two sexual assaults on children and one charge of possessing extreme pornography, is expected to be charged with three new offences and could plead guilty. If he pleads gulity he is likely to be sentenced tomorrow.

UPDATE

Colin Blanchard pleaded not guilty to distributing an indecent image and sexual assault of a child under the age of 13.

Blanchard will face a trial at Bristol Crown Court on 5 July 2010.
