Bus crashes into bridge

A bus crashed into a bridge whilst travelling from Rochdale this evening (Friday 29 October 2010).
At around 7.15pm the double decker bus crashed into a bridge at the junction of Richard Street and Station Road close to Rochdale train station.
It appeared that the bus was unable to fit under the bridge. Leaving it with a smashed window on the top deck.
Police were at the scene and officers were directing the traffic flow in the area.
It is thought there were five or six passengers on the bus - none of them appeared to be injured.
