Deeplish set for new homes boost

Date published: 07 October 2013

Rochdale Boroughwide Housing (RBH) has been granted permission to build nine new family homes for affordable rent on Ashfield Road.

Rochdale Council’s planning committee has approved the scheme, which will see nine new family homes built on the former site of the Ashfield House sheltered scheme, on the corner of Ashfield Road and Milkstone Road.

Clare Tostevin, RBH Head of Strategy and Regeneration, said: “There is a high demand for larger family homes in this part of Rochdale, and our proposed development will provide new high-quality homes for local residents.”

The approved plans, drawn up by architects TADW, are for six three-bedroom homes, two four-bedroom homes and one five-bedroom home. The homes are designed to provide modern flexible living for local families, with features including multi-purpose rooms that can be divided and additional bathroom facilities.
