Date published: 02 April 2014

Shehneela Ahmed has been short-listed for the 2014 Asian Women of Achievement Awards, marking 15 years of celebrating Britain's remarkable Asian women across business, the arts, media, sport and social and humanitarian work.

Rochdale born Shehneela has made soccer history by becoming Britain’s first female Muslim football agent, and has already signed some of Europe’s top football players. Shehneela, who also works as a duty solicitor criminal advocate in West London, received her license from the FA in September and aims to be a role model for youngsters and an ambassador for sports in the UK.

More than 50 women working in the arts, business, sports, media, humanities, finance and public sectors have been short-listed for the 15th Asian Women of Achievement Awards (AWA), which celebrate women who make an “outstanding contribution to our culture and economy”.

The awards will be held on 4 June at the Hilton Hotel in London.
