Wheatsheaf Centre Easter Kids Club

Date published: 12 April 2014

The Wheatsheaf Centre Kids Club turned all things Easter today (Saturday 12 April) ahead of Easter weekend.

The club, which is held every month, invited children to make Easter cards, Easter baskets and to meet the Easter bunny.

Kristy Doolan from the club said: “All activities are free and are Easter themed. We thought we would do Easter because of the time of year.”

The club, which ran from 12 noon, was set up as a way to keep children entertained whilst their parents shopped in the centre.

“I think it’s a good idea to give the kids something to do when they’re parents are out shopping, especially while it’s the school holidays,” added Kristy.

Usually the club is located upstairs in the shopping centre but today, the club moved downstairs.

Kristy said: “I think it is better being downstairs. We seemed to have attracted more people because more people can see us easier.”

Children can sign up to be part of the kids club at the shopping centre. Once they are signed up, they receive a comic book, which includes information on the next kids club.

“The themed clubs usually go down really well and we have had a lot of people coming over today and getting involved so its been good. We have been busy from the start,” said Kristy.
