Arrests/Warrants

On the evening of 13/04/14 a male was stopped in his vehicle on Townley Street, Middleton, then having failed a road side breath test, he was taken to Bury custody. He was later charged with the offence of driving a motor vehicle otherwise in accordance with a licence and without insurance. He was bailed to appear at Bury & Rochdale Court on 02/05/14.

On 15/04/14 a male was arrested and charged with Section 4 Public Order, the offender is barred from entering The Britannia Inn Middleton, but he continued to try to gain entry via the beer garden, where he then made threats to the bar staff. He was subsequently taken into custody and was charged and refused bail and was then taken to Bury & Rochdale Court on 16/04/14.

Anti Social Behaviour mini motor bikes

After several calls from residents on the Alkrington Estate, on Friday 11 April at PC Bracey along with the beat officers from the East Middleton area, seized an off road bike on Davidson Drive from a 12-year-old male. The rider was driving on a public road with no licence and no insurance under Section 165 Road Traffic Act 1988.

Burglary

Eight reports of burglary this week, three of these reports may have been avoided if the owners had not left the house doors insecure. Lighter nights are encouraging residents to get out into gardens more, chat to neighbours over the fence or clean cars but be aware of the opportunist burglars who are walking around and committing sneak in burglarys.

Lock all doors and windows and keep valuables out of sight. Remember to lock garages and sheds when mowing the lawn, etc.

Mobile phones that don’t have a tracking app installed when they are stolen can be retrospectively tracked. This works for Android, Samsung and Windows Phones.

• Log on to Google Play store and sign in
• Download the Android Lost App or Plan B App
• Follow instructions to activate the App
• Go to findmymobile.samsung.com
• Point to the phone in the top right hand corner and click Find My Phone
• Sign in with Microsoft account details and follow instructions
• Go to windowsphone.com
• Point to the phone in the top right hand corner and click Find My Phone
• Sign in with the losers Microsoft account details and follow instructions

Note – this will not work with iPhone, iPad and Blackberry.

PCSO Porter with be in the area of Morrisons/Iceland Heywood with regards to advice and to disrupt Anti- Social Behaviour between 4:30pm - 8:30pm on Friday 25 April.
