Over 200 walkers took part in the first ever Springhill Hospice Pyjama Parade on Saturday 14 July. Despite the rain, the walk was deemed a “fantastic” night by the Hospice.

Pupils from St Cuthbert’s Secondary School made a visit to the Hospice today (Friday 18 July) to give them a cheque for £303.45 from their fundraising efforts on Go Green Day. The school baked cakes, mixed cocktails and helped with the Go Green leaflets.

Oulder Hill Community School delivered a cheque of £1,300 to the Hospice after raising money on Go Green Day. Pupils also paid a visit to the Day Hospice to tell people about what they did for Go Green Day. Julie Halliwell, Chief Executive of Springhill Hospice also spent time with the children and thanked them for their fundraising efforts.

The Littleborough 13’ raised £2,000 for the Hospice by completing the Three Peaks Challenge.

Saba Salam from the fundraising team has been speaking with staff at Spotland library regarding a fundraising event in October.

The Hospice is planning to launch an event called ‘Tea at 3’ during Hospice Care Week (Monday 6 October – Sunday 12 October) and have been to the library to seek their involvement.

Sarah Ford and Lillie Winterbottom from the Hospice paid a visit to BDO accounting in Manchester after the company decided to choose them as their charity for the year. Fundraising ideas are already being discussed between the Hospice and the company.

Dates for the Diary

Sunday 20 July – Open Garden Day – The Open Garden Day event gives members of the public the chance to visit the Hospice and have a look around the magnificent gardens the Hospice has to offer. Entry to the event is £2.50 per person with refreshments available on site.
