Children terrified after mother's car torched

Three children of a single mother from Milnrow are "scared to death" after their mother's car was torched on her drive.

Lisa Betham's car was set on fire on her drive on Hurstead Road, Milnrow in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday 29 July).

Lisa said: "He was wearing a grey tracksuit with his hoody up.

"I'm a single mum with three kids in my house, I'm disgusted.

"My children are scared to death now.

"I'm shocked that someone could do it."

A spokesperson for the Fire Service said: "We were called to a car fire at 1.18am today (Tuesday 29 July). The fire crew put out a car fire on a Volkswagen Golf. There were no injuries to anyone."

A spokesperson for the police said: "We got the call at 1.28am today. Two people were seen running away from the Volkswagen Golf. We are treating the fire as arson.

"There have been no arrests at present."
