Local grants for the arts available

Date published: 14 August 2014

Arts groups in the borough are being invited to apply for up to three years’ funding as details of Rochdale Borough Council’s grant funding programme are announced - any formally constituted arts organisation based in the Rochdale borough can apply for the funding, which runs from 2015 to 2018.

The grant provides revenue funding for groups which can include salaries, equipment and rent. It excludes any capital projects. The closing date for applications is Tuesday 30 September.

Applications for funding should be made to Link4Life.

Julian Jefferson, Head of Arts & Heritage at Link4Life, said: “The arts organisation fund has enabled the communities and residents of Rochdale Borough to take part in and enjoy a wide variety of arts, from creative writing and theatre to circus skills and music. We look forward to further developing the arts in the borough and are inviting new as well as currently funded groups to apply.”

To ensure appropriate governance is in place all applicants must be properly constituted, not-for-profit, voluntary arts organisations. Groups must also meet the criteria for funding set out in the application which supports boroughwide priorities. The maximum grant available is £20,000 per year for a three year period. This will be subject to an annual review and to any change in future levels of funding available.
