Eddie Holden and Jeremy Warner to do sponsored bike ride

Date published: 18 August 2014

Eddie Holden and Jeremy Warner, from Littleoborugh, are doing a sponsored bike ride up Mont Ventoux at the beginning of September to raise money for the Springhill Hospice at Home Appeal.

The legendary Mont Ventoux in the Provence region of Southern France is probably the most famous and feared of the great climbs of the Tour de France.

Although only 1,912 meters high, Mont Ventoux rises up as a giant amidst the beautiful surrounding countryside. It can get windy at the summit, especially with the mistral, wind speeds as high as 200 mph have been recorded. The wind blows at 56+ mph 240 days a year.

Eddie and Jeremy are no strangers to sponsored cycle rides. In 2013 they took their bikes up Alp d’Huez, tackling 21 hairpin bends and grinding it right to the top for the Hospice at Home appeal.
