Rochdale Feel Good Festival venues confirmed

Date published: 21 August 2014

Rochdale Feel Good Festival returns for its seventh year on Friday 29 and Saturday 30 August and the Town Hall Square will provide the focal point, with headline bands and artists such as Scouting For Girls, The Selecter, Bird To Beast, and MDNGHT performing on the main stage.

This will also be the site for Carillion’s Celebrity Kitchen, featuring chefs Ainsley Harriott, Aazam Ahmad, Andrew Nutter, Peter Clough and Justine Forrest, who will be giving masterclasses.

The Food Village, Festival Market, Link4Life Creativity Tent, and the Community Stage will form a bridge between the Town Hall Square and Memorial Gardens; a melting pot of cuisine, stalls, and family activities, from balloon modelling to crafts inspired by the Four Seasons exhibition currently hosted at the Touchstones Arts and Heritage Centre, another venue for the event.

The Flying Horse Hotel will welcome The Flying Jokers Comedy Night on Friday, along with the return of The Reno Corrado Pimps, before The Back Door Music Project presents its Feel Good Special and more live bands take over the downstairs room on Saturday.

The Wheatsheaf Shopping Centre has Commonwealth Crazy Golf, with a first class trip to London for all the family up for grabs, alongside further music and refreshments in the bars and pubs surrounding the core site.

Debbie Hernon, of Rochdale Feel Good Festival, said: “In addition to the main venues, a host of local shops and businesses will be putting on their own side attractions in a bid to get involved with one of the North West’s biggest and best free summertime celebrations.

"People can come and listen to some fantastic artist perform, take part in a host of fun games and gorge themselves on the region’s tastiest bites- from street food to the more complex creations of our celebrity chefs.”
