Springhill Hospice 2015 calendar competition winners announced and calendar launched

Date published: 26 August 2014

The winners of the Springhill Hospice Calendar Competition were announced at an ‘Oscar’ awards event at Springhill Hospice on Thursday 21 August when the 2015 calendar was launched.

The twelve photographs illustrating each of the months were selected by an open competition. The winning photographs were then chosen by an independent panel, reflecting the four seasons and different locations throughout the borough.

The cover photograph for 2015 – the people’s choice – is “Rochdale by Night” taken by David Brierley. David’s photograph received the most votes from the general public following an exhibition of all of the submitted photographs in the Exchange Shopping Centre.

The calendar, one of the Hospice’s major fund raisers, is now on sale in all of the Hospice shops as well as many other outlets across the
borough.

As the 2015 calendar goes on sale, eyes are already turning to the 2016 calendar.

Again all of the illustrating photographs will be chosen by an open competition – the closing date will be 31 March 2015.

Those behind the calendar welcome submissions from all age groups and all levels of ability. Now is the time to get out there taking photos - there is still time (just) to take photographs in all four seasons before the deadline.
