Feel Good Festival: Ainsley Harriott packs out celebrity kitchen

Date published: 30 August 2014

Ainsley Harriott made his return to the Feel Good Festival today (Saturday 30 August) and entertained his audience with his fun loving attitude.

Ainsley, who appeared at the festival five years ago, cooked dishes that everyone can easily cook at home including Rum Drum Chicken and a fish stew.

Speaking to a Rochdale Online, Ainsley said: "I really enjoyed it. It was absolutely fantastic. I spent a lot of time interacting with the crowd and getting them involved. That way it puts everyone at ease and takes away that distance, even though it is still there, when I go and speak to them, it takes it away."

Crowds packed out the seating area in front of the celebrity food kitchen to see Ainsley do his demonstration.

Speaking about the Feel Good Festival, Ainsley said: "I think festivals like this are such good ideas. Everyone gets to experience their local town in a different way and we can come along and do things for them that they may not necessarily do. When you see cookery shows people often think 'oh I can't do that' but by doing these demonstrations, you can take that fear away."

Ainsley also enjoyed being able to meet with fans and meet those he had met five years ago.

He added: "I got a picture today from a fan who I met five years a go. He was just a young lad then and now he is grown up so it is nice to be able to do things like that."
