Crime Prevention tips for the week

Local neighbourhood officers regularly attend second hand shops in an effort to try and recover stolen property, such as mobile phones and other electrical items. These checks are also done when officers are doing house searches on items they suspect maybe stolen.

This is made so much easier if those officers have serial numbers of items when doing the checks.

Take a look at website that allows you to record the serial numbers for items you own that if later lost/stolen then these can be passed to police to assist in their recovery.

To assist you a mobile phone serial number (IMEI number) can be easily obtained by pressing *#06# on your phone.
