Rochdale Council cabinet meeting as it happened - Monday 29 September

The first item on the agenda is regarding the feasibility study and future use of Rochdale Town Hall.

The report outlines the main findings of the study and options to help determine the future use. Those presenting the report to the council described the building as a “well loved building” and it is hoped that the restoration of the building will bring a “new pride” to Rochdale.

Councillors approve the report.

A report regarding ‘Making a difference to Kirkholt’ is next.

The report outlines the location and focuses of a multi agency pilot in the borough.

Councillors agree the report.

The Core Strategy – Latest Housing Evidence and Proposed Approach is agreed by councillors.

Councillors agree the reports regarding the Revenue Budget, Revenue Finance, the Collection Fund and the Savings update.

Nursery school review is next.

The review has established three out of four nurseries that are financially viable for the next two years.

The fourth nursery, Derby Street Nursery in Heywood, will now undergo public consultation in regards to if it will close or not.
