Operation Dark Nights Launched Friday, 24/10/14

The 'Dark Nights' Operation launched in sync with this weekend's clocks going back (Sunday, 26/10/14) and one of its tactics is to focus on burglary hot spot areas. It will run right throughout the dark night months.

Light it, alarm it, lock it.

When you are out and about and you see one of the police pods in your area feel free to go and talk. Officers can give you plenty of crime advice, leaflets and light timers. If you just want to say hello and meet officers you are more than welcome to do so.

Crime Prevention Advice

During this past week Rochdale North officers have noticed that Bamford and surrounding areas are still suffering a high amount of burglaries.

Remember to "Light it, alarm it lock it" - you don't want to become a victim of burglary.

Keep yourself and your house safe and secure at all times. Lock up.

One in three burglaries happen because people leave windows and doors open.

Deter burglars by making sure you shut and securely lock all windows and doors when you leave a room or when the house is empty, even if you're only popping out for a few minutes.

If you’re going out make sure the home looks occupied, leave your television or radio on.
