10-year-old boy rushed to hospital after incident at Cowm Quarry

A 10-year-old boy was air-lifted to hospital with a potential head injury after falling off of a motorbike at Cowm Quarry in Whitworth.
North West Air Ambulance, road ambulance and a rapid response vehicle were called to the incident just after 2pm on Saturday (25 October).
The boy was then taken to Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.
A spokesperson for North West Air Ambulance said: “We received the call at 2:06pm and arrived on scene at 2:16pm. On scene there was a rapid response vehicle, a road ambulance and the air ambulance.
“The boy was taken to Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital with a potential head injury. The hospital was informed of the patient’s arrival which is usual in cases involving head injuries.”
The incident is the second to occur at the quarry in the past month.
12-year-old Logan Wood died in the same quarry on 1 October after falling from a quad bike.
