St Michael’s Church Uniformed Groups Christmas Fair

Date published: 29 November 2014

The uniformed groups of St Michael’s Church in Middleton held a Christmas fair today (Saturday 29 November) to help them raise money for the refurbishment of their scout hut.

Held in the scout hut at St Michael’s Church, the fair included stalls and activities including face painting, plaque making, mini jeep rides, a bottle stall, cake stall and bric-a-brac.

Organiser Julie Brogan said: “The outside of the hut has been done up and we have had a quote for the roof but now we are looking at sorting the inside out so any money raised from today will go towards that.”

A fair is held every year and it is hoped this year's fair will raise as much as possible to help with the refurbishments.

Julie added: “We would hope to raise about £700-£1,000 so hopefully we can reach the target but whatever we come away with will help with the work.”

Held between 2pm and 4pm, the fair was busy from the get go.

“We have had a great response and had people coming from the start so it has been a really good day,” said Julie.
