Wombles of Rochdale donate clothes to the homeless

Date published: 18 December 2014

A group which donates items of clothing and goods to others has seen its members come together to help the homeless.

The on-line group, Wombles of Rochdale, decided to get together and do something charitable this Christmas.

June Murphy, from the group, said: “The site is for people to donate their goods to other people if they need them but the admin decided to get together and do something for the homeless.”

On Tuesday (16 December) group members came together at The Petrus Centre to collect items for the homeless.

June added: “It was a fantastic turnout with a huge amount of donations. All of the admin team would like to thank all that donated and took their time out to help. It was brilliant.”

This was the first time the group did something for the homeless and are now planning a meal for the homeless at Shelly B’s Café on Sunday 21 December.
