Springhill Hospice Tea Rooms looking to find ‘family favourite’ baking recipe

Date published: 21 January 2015

The Fundraising team at Springhill Hospice is on a mission to find Rochdale’s best ‘family favourite’ baking recipe.

To welcome the arrival of the Tea Rooms, new baking and culinary whizz, Linda Chadwick, the fundraising team and staff at the Tea Rooms have decided to run a competition to find a favourite family recipe.

For a chance to win afternoon tea for two at the Tea Rooms, residents of the borough are being asked to send in their old family favourite baking recipes. Whether it be a recipe for Rock Buns, Parkin or Macaroons just send it to the Springhill Tea Rooms.

When all entries have been received, Linda and her team of volunteers will choose a winner and bake the winning recipe to feature on the Tea Rooms menu for the month of March. The winner will also be invited to the Tea Rooms for afternoon tea for two to sample their family favourite as well as other culinary goodies made by Linda.

Entries can be sent via email to Lillie.winterbottom@nhs.net, via post to Springhill Hospice, Broad Lane, Rochdale, OL16 4PZ or dropped off at the Tea Rooms between 10am and 3pm at the former Craven Heifer pub on Broad Lane.

Entries should include the full recipe including all ingredients and weights, etc., your name, address, phone number and email address (if you have one).

Entry for the competition will close on Monday 16 February.

The winner will be informed on Monday 23 of February.
