Jonathan Burns
Former Middleton councillor Jonathan Burns has died at the age of 33.
The cause of death is currently unclear but it is understood that Mr Burns died on Friday (23 January).
Mr Burns was a councillor in North Middleton having been elected in 2007.
He lived locally and worked as a Community Project Director.
During his time as a councillor, Mr Burns was the Vice Chairperson of Middleton Township, the Chairperson of the Middleton Township Planning Sub-Committee and was a member of the Sub-Committee for Regeneration, Environment and Culture.
He stood down as a councillor at last year’s election.
Speaking about Mr Burns, Councillor James Gartside said: “I found him very pleasant company, always easy to be with even though we represented different Parties. It is very sad news and I wish those he has left behind my condolences and kind thoughts, but delighted that I knew him.”
